Being a mother of 5, I can only thank my lucky stars and count my blessings that all of my children are healthy. While the oldest of my children has been diagnosed with Aspergers, I know that there are much bigger hurdles I could have to deal with.
It is because of these blessings that I try to give back, whatever I can spare, whenever I can. I usually support those organizations I have some kind of connection to or know someone who does.
This weekend my friend Cara will be walking in a fund raiser for the March of Dimes. The money raised during the March of Babies walk will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.
This is a cause which is very near and dear to Cara's heart. Her son Joey was born 12 weeks premature due to a placental abruption, a result of preeclampsia. He weighed just 2 pounds 9 ounces and was only 14 inches long. Cara learned about the March of Dimes while Joey was in the NICU & this organization has just been a natural fit.
So for the third year running Cara & Joey will be walking to raise money. They are also looking for sponsors for the walk. In exchange for your sponsorship you will be eligible for a random drawing to win a variety of prizes from WAHMs. Click here to see a picture of baby Joey (he's now a strapping toddler) & learn how you can sponsor Cara in this weekends walk.
Jalapeno Designs is proud to sponsor Joey's Posse. Check out their Team shirts.
